Chapter 2 – Qin Ruoshui

Part 2

This room was much humbler than the big palace hall they had just stayed in.  Placed in the room was a jade bed, it was a thing from many years ago. When Qin Ruoshui returned to the sea palace, he slept on it daily. There was a row of clam shells on the wall for decoration. The pearls inside them had been hollowed out many years ago.

Qin Ruoshui placed Zhuang Yan inside a clam shell. The clam shell was not very big, so it was difficult for him to cram the humans hands and feet into it .

He took a step back and glanced at the human being. He curled up into a small ball inside the clam shell, looking a bit pitiful, as if he had been abused.

Qin Ruoshui dragged the human out of the clam shell again, looked around and finally put the human on his own jade bed very reluctantly.

He stood by the bed, looked down at the human and carefully examined his facial features. The more he looked at his face, the more was it to his taste.

He had already entered the courtship period and his brain had been screaming at him to eat the human on the bed. Fortunately, his remaining reason told him that he needed to ask about the wishes of this comatose human.

Haa, it was really troublesome.

Qin Ruoshui had already thought about what methods should he use to eat this human on his way back, but he still needed permission from this human before he could do so.

Qin Ruoshui had no way to speak the human language when he was in the form of a mermaid so he could only discuss this matter with this human in his dreams.

He raised his hand and suddenly there was a bright white light ball on his index finger. The ball jumped from his fingertip, landed directly above Zhuang Yan’s forehead and went inside his body.

Zhuang Yan was confused and he felt as if he was in a dream. All the pain in his body disappeared. His body was extremely light. He felt like he could jump really high and far with just a light jump. The surroundings were warm and cozy, as if he were in the arms of his mother.

His eyelashes trembled slightly and he opened his eyes. There was nothing but white around him, his feet stepped on the soft ground and it felt like stepping on clouds. He walked straight ahead, as if there was a voice telling him: ‘Keep going, keep going, don’t stop.’. 

Finally he came to the end of the road. In front of him was a white door. Zhuang Yan reached out and pushed the door open. A dazzling white light shone suddenly on Zhuang Yan. He closed his eyes out of reflex.

After the white light had cleared, Zhuang Yan opened his eyes again and saw that Mr. Qin, who was originally in a wheelchair, stood straight in front of him.

He really went to heaven.

Zhuang Yan opened his mouth and wanted to say hello to Mr. Qin but he couldn’t say anything. He could only raise his lips and show a friendly smile to Mr. Qin.

He remembered seeing Mr. Qin at the banquet for the first time before he died.

Pieces of memories slowly unfolded in front of him. The hall of the noisy banquet suddenly became quiet at a certain moment. The crowd shut their mouths and the birds went silent. Everyone held their breath, bend their necks and looked at the direction of the main entrance.

At that time, Zhuang Yan didn’t know what would happen next, but he just did the same as everyone.

With a squeak, the door was pulled open. The man in front of him seemed as if cold air surrounded him, like a cold winter day and icy snow. At first his face looked nothing special, it seemed just ordinary beautiful, but when you looked at it again, there was no way to look away again. It was as if he was a princess enchanted by a witch in a fairy tale, with an irresistible magic.

His eyes were dark blue, like a cold star and as he gradually approached the moonlight fell behind him like a waterfall.

In this way, he captured the attention of everyone and everybody in the banquet hall fell silent. He came to the banquet slowly but he seized Zhuang Yan’s heart in a flash.

The man suffered from leg problems and was sitting in a wheelchair, but this didn’t hinder his beauty and temperament at all. A butler wearing a black tuxedo and white gloves pushed him to the center of the banquet. Everyone bowed their heads in front of him.

Only later did Zhuang Yan know that this man’s name was Qin Ruoshui and that it was this Mr. Qin who made so many people feel stunned.

And now, this Mr. Qin was standing in front of himself, standing in front of him upright on his two legs.

Zhuang Yan was increasingly determined that he was either dead or dreaming.

When Qin Ruoshui saw the human in front of him blinking at him, he pursed his lips and thought: ‘This human seemed a bit dumb.’ He didn’t know if the human could understand what he was going to tell him.

“You are going to die, you know?” Qin Ruoshui’s voice was ethereal, as if it was from heaven.

He was not dead yet? Zhuang Yan blinked with his eyes and his grey eyes showed even more puzzlement and he was even more dumbfounded by this situation.

“I’m going to make a deal with you now”, for the next words Qin Ruoshui was somewhat ashamed to speak them out. But on the surface, he still looked as indifferent as before. Like everything was under his control.

Zhuang Yan’s eyes flickered and he continued to stare at Qin Ruoshui, still in a daze. Probably, it was because of the seawater that he just swallowed but except for the thought that the man in front of him ​​looked extremely good, his head was empty. 

“I can save your life, but you need to accompany me for half a month.”

Zhuang Yan fell into a trance for a moment before he realized what Qin Ruoshui had said to himself. His pupils shrank, his mouth opened slightly in shock and he stared at Qin Ruoshui.

There was such a good thing in this world!

Zhuang Yan almost laughed out loud. He had been trying to get rid of his life as a single dog for a long time, but he hadn’t been in love with anyone. Finally, he met  Mr. Qin, who he fell in love with at first sight but he soon realized that the gap between him and Mr. Qin was too big, it could be said that the difference between them was as wide as the difference between the clouds and mud. So he could only put the seedling that just broke out of the soil, back into the earth.

And now, this Mr. Qin even told him that he could accompany him and that he then would save his life.

He also called this a transaction.

For him it was no different from a pie falling from the sky.

But half a month was too short, maybe he could suggest that Mr. Qin extends the time a little.

Mr. Qin didn’t look like a top, but if one were to look at his long-trained biceps, look at these six angular abdominal muscles-

Wait, why wasn’t he wearing any clothes?

Well, it doesn’t matter for the moment.

Unfortunately, he was still dreaming. Zhuang Yan sighed silently in his heart.

After Qin Ruoshui finished speaking, his conscience was a bit overwhelming. It was not unbearable for him to go through the courtship period alone. After all, he had done so in the past few years.

He was about to tell the human being that even if he did not agree, he would still save him and send him back to the shore, when he suddenly found that the human looked at him with shining eyes.

The light in his eyes was warm and eager. If you wanted to find a word to describe it, it might be a person who had been hungry for a long time and saw a bowl of braised pork with frying oil.

He didn’t know why, obviously he wanted to make a deal with the other party, but looking at the other party’s bright eyes, for a moment, Qin Ruoshui felt as if he had suffered a loss.

It was very strange.
